Cyanotypes and passion flowers

July, 2017:

The weather has been pretty changeable down here and a couple of times I’ve got caught in a deluge. I walked down between the backs to visit the passion flower plant that climbs along and over most of the length of the lane, and on a wet morning I decided to take the camera down and get the raindrops on the blooms.

I found an old packet of ‘sun-print’ paper that must have been a good 25 years old; it said on the back ‘use within 6 months’ but I thought I’d give it a go and I made some digital negatives using Photoshop and bought an old picture in a charity shop to use as a contact frame. I wasn’t sure how long to leave it but it seems to have turned out o.k.
