Experimenting with Photoshop and doodling with an iPad

I’ve used Photoshop for many years and still find new things to do with it. I’m preparing source material for the next series of prints that I’ll start making in the summer and I like seaweed for its colours and textures. I took some photographs and edited them as one idea for material but then I realised if I just turned them into straight prints [i.e. using a printing technique and a press] that they might be rather dull. So I decided to play around with Photoshop and see what happened. I printed them out to see how they looked using a mini sub-dye Canon and I think they look great. Plenty of starting points here, anyway…

I also did some quick sketches on the iPhone and I like the combination of overlapping shapes and twiddly details.

As a little retirement present to myself, I bought a refurbished iPad pro with a pencil.
What a great set of tools and how easy these will be to use whilst I’m on the train for 2 hours a day.
